We are seeking a Special Loans Officer to support the Manager, Special Loans in the administration of foreclosure and property management for delinquent accounts. You will be responsible for coordinating the management of activities relating to risk factors in compliance with CWB and regulatory requirements.
What you will be responsible for:
Extensive contact with customers to address their delinquent accounts and make payment arrangements
Completing necessary procedures to collect payments on delinquent accounts
Review delinquency reports
Review accounts to determine arrears
Manage critical collection dates and follow up on collection activity
Manage soft arrear mortgages and advise manager on loans that require escalation to legal action
Assist the manager as required with other tasks required within the department
Identify & implement process improvement opportunities to increase the efficiency of the Default Management function.
Stay current with relevant regulatory requirements and industry leading practices and default management trends. Apply the knowledge, where applicable, while carrying out collection practices or other relevant responsibilities.
Who you are: Education
Post-secondary education in business, economics or accounting would be desirable or equivalent education in legal, mortgage lending or related area.
Professional Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in collection with preference to retail/residential mortgage lending
Personal Competencies
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously, manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Accuracy and the ability to handle a high-volume of work efficiently are essential to this position.
