The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of all necessary legal documentation within the Real Estate group including performing legal analysis and research.

Review commercial contract of purchase and sale, easements, rights of way, subdivisions and strata plan filings.
Review of leases and leasing agreements.
Prepare documents with respect to acquisitions and sales of various types of commercial properties, financing and development of land. Obtain and review due diligence searches and completing summaries.
Prepare closing agendas.
Prepare all documents necessary, from start to completion on all commercial real estate transactions.
Attend to registration of documents and security in land title offices and other government registries.
Prepare closing books and reports to client.
Responsible for independent file management.
Manage trust accounting and reporting.
Liaise with all internal and external parties involved with the transaction, including preparation of correspondences.
Review and respond to correspondences.
May act as a “go to person” for junior members of the team to provide direction and guidance.

8+ years as a Law Clerk/Paralegal.
Law Clerk/Paralegal or Legal Assistant Diploma/Certificate.
Ability to communicate effectively with other Firm members, with the aptitude to take care of clients’ needs in a professional and courteous manner.
Ability to provide guidance and direction to professionals, law clerks and legal administrative assistants.
Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze documents for accuracy.
Knowledgeable about current relevant legislation and government regulations.
Capacity to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
In depth knowledge of legal terminology and principles.
Produce a high quality and quantity of work product, occasionally under tight timelines.
Able to prioritize and to redefine priorities when necessary.
Good working skills with all applicable online data bases: BC Online, LTSA, due diligence websites, etc.
Solid understanding of BC land title registration requirements.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
