Job Description

Toronto, ONDEPARTMENT PROFILE The Banking Services Department is responsible for the timely processing of all Employee and Employer Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT) and Cheque Disbursements resulting from client payroll processing. The department is also responsible for a number of exception activities and emergency payment services as well as maintaining the relationships between ADP and our bank partners to ensure our business needs and bank commitments are being met.
POSITION SUMMARY The Banking Service Coordinator is responsible for monitoring Banking activities of all platform processing. The coordinator collates and balances all production reports, and is responsible for processing files within ADP systems, ensuring that all payment batches are received at the bank. The coordinator also initiates escalation procedures when discrepancies are identified.
RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure that production reports are retrieved and balanced, escalated if necessary Follow up with internal departments for sign off approvals in regards to payment processing Ensure that all banking payment processing spreadsheets and daily activity logs are updated Create necessary Disbursement and Accounts Receivable payment files in ADP systems Process transmission files to Bank Partners ensuring that all bank deadlines are met, escalating whenever necessary Request output reports from payment transmission using bank software; verify that all payment batches are received successfully at the bank Ensure that all blocked files and rejected items are identified and resolved Initiate proper escalation procedures when discrepancies and system issues are identified Prepare Banking accounting entries such as debit/credit memos Create refund batches and obtain the required approvals Investigate outstanding balances on specific general ledger accounts, following up with various departments to clear items if necessary Must actively support cross training program and demonstrate an eagerness to lean other duties in order to provide additional support and coverage Must be flexible to work some weekends when required Other duties as assigned by management COMPETENCIES Education: Completed high school Completed university or college education an asset
Knowledge, Experience, and Skills: Required: 2-3 years business experience in a financial environment Good understanding of debits and credits Preferred: Working knowledge of Oracle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Attributes: Able to work in a high volume, high pressure environment Able to work with little to no supervision Organized and detail oriented Excellent communications skills both written and oral Flexibility We're designing a better way to work, so you can achieve what you're working for.
