Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Recruitment: Work with management to understand future staffing requirements and develop proactive staffing plans. Participate in the full-cycle recruitment process including, but not limited to sourcing resumes, creating job descriptions, posting job vacancies, screening resumes, scheduling/conducting interviews, and completing reference checks. Draft offer letters and ensure candidates satisfy all pre-employment requirements. Conduct orientations and on-board employees and contractors. Perform data entry for new hire information and organize required documentation. Act as a point of contact for candidates and new employees; answer questions or direct to appropriate personnel. Organize and attend career/job fairs and post-secondary recruiting events in various locations. Utilize social media and online tools to facilitate applicant sourcing and recruitment efforts Payroll and Benefits: Calculate and enter bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees according to employment standards legislation for each province. Manage employee information in the Company’s HRIS. Work closely with the Global Total Rewards team to support the benefits administration process for Canada. Human Resources Advising and Administration: Advise and coach supervisors and management on HR-related issues including interpretation of employment legislation and HR policies/procedures, workforce planning, performance management, employee motivation and engagement, training and development, and overall best practices. Provide general administrative HR support including, but not limited to, maintaining employee and contractor files, maintaining HR and payroll tracking spreadsheets, filing, and data entry. Provide administrative support on special projects and initiatives, as required.
Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in a progressive Human Resources capacity. Must have previous experience with managing full-cycle recruitment. Must have a strong understanding of Canadian Employment Standards and legislation. Must hold a post-secondary Certificate, Diploma or Degree; preferably in Human Resources. Experience with payroll and benefits administration is a strong asset. Experience with working with labour unions is an asset. Proficient using MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint). Ability to handle multiple deadlines and work in high pressure situations. Strong communication and writing skills. Service-oriented, results-driven and able to perform in a fast-paced work environment. Must have a valid Driver’s License and reliable means of transportation. Must be willing to travel to various office locations in Canada as needed. Must be willing to work overtime and weekends during busy seasons to meet business demands.
