Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager of Staff Experience is
accountable for developing and maintaining organizational human resources.
Including; HR processes and strategy, operational planning, internal
communications, ensuring sustainability principles are upheld, overseeing
administrative needs, and cultivating a positive and safe work environment for all
staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
Human Resources
Maintains SAITSA’s human resource manual and Policies & Procedures. Performs all full-time employee recruitment and selection functions; posts
vacant positions, evaluates candidates, conducts interviews along with
respected departments. Creates and updates full-time staff job descriptions as required. Conducts exit interviews as needed with full-time salaried staff. Monitors
staff-turnover and other HR patterns. Consults on process around the dismissal of staff in conjunction with the
SAITSA Executive Director. Responsible for orienting new employees through onboarding paperwork,
HR procedures, and ensures that all new staff have assigned phones,
computers, email etc. Monitors all salaried employees’ vacation time, sick time, time in lieu, etc. Serves as a backup Payroll Administrator and acts as the lead on
Dayforce (Human Resource Management system); troubleshooting,
updating, monitoring and maintaining. Conducts the annual Staff Survey and tracks data. Collects full-time staff Annual Reviews and ensures they are completed
with each manager.
Leadership
Manages the Coordinator, Administration and assigns tasks to meet
SAITSA’s administrative needs. Leads the development and ongoing tracking of progress for the
Operational Plan. Project lead for annual SAITSA staff orientation; ensuring all administrative
paperwork is complete and proper training conducted. Manages the staff appreciation program, administration and
communication components. Coordinates, where appropriate, staff training/professional development
seminars. Maintains organizational health and safety standards. Updates policy as
required and sits on the SAIT Health, Safety and Environment Steering
Committee.
Administration
Facilitates internal communication by providing accurate, detailed
information to all full-time staff as required. Responsible for setting up and tracking all employee benefits (Cellular
Phones, Health and Dental, RRSP, etc.) as outlined in employee contracts. Responsible for providing administrative and human resource orientation
to new Executive Council. Ensures that employee handbooks and department manuals are being
updated annually and that new employees receive a copy of all manuals
relevant to their position.
Finance
Develops and reviews the administration budget with the Executive
Director. Ensures all incoming invoices directed to the administration office
are coded appropriately. Assists the Executive Director with the organization’s compensation plan,
salary reviews, and bonus allocation annually.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Human Resource Management or a related field.
Professional designation
Member of CPHR (Chartered Professionals in Human Resources) an asset.

Expert on Human Rights Regulations, Occupational Health & Safety,
Workers’ Compensation Board Knowledge of project manag
